New signings Zubimendi & Gyokeres shine as Gunners dominate in Premier League clash
Zubimendi Brace, Gyokeres Debut Goal Fire Arsenal Top of Premier League
Arsenal surged to the top of the Premier League table with commanding 3 - 0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the Emirates on Saturday.
The Gunners controlled the match from the outset and their breakthrough came in the 32 minute when Martin Zubimendi fired thunderous strike from outside the box (his first career goal from distance and1 his debut strike since arriving from Real Sociedad for around 70 million dollar).
Just after the restart, summer signing Viktor Gyokeres doubled Arsenal’s lead. The Swedish striker who had already netted twice against Leeds earlier this season pounced on smart assist from Eberechi Eze to slot home from close range in the 46 minute.
Gyokeres struck the post moments later but Zubimendi sealed the result with towering header in the 79 minute (the 1st brace of his professional career).
The win lifts Arsenal to 9 point from four matches, level with champions Liverpool but ahead on goal difference.
Forest remain mid table with 4 point as Ange Postecoglou began his reign after replacing Nuno Espirito Santo.
