1. FC Köln have confirmed the signing of Luka Lochoshvili from 1. FC Nürnberg. The 28-year-old centre-back arrives for a reported €4 to €5 million. The club said he has signed a deal at the RheinEnergieStadion until June 2029.

The Georgian international impressed for Nürnberg last season, making 33 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga and producing five goals and two assists.

Sporting director Thomas Kessler welcomed the addition, highlighting Lochoshvili’s personality, strength in duels and aerial presence. He said the left-footed centre-back will add stability to the defence and completes their options in the position.

Kessler added that Köln believe he fits both as a player and as a person, and that his arrival brings further quality to the squad.

Lochoshvili called the move the next step towards playing at the highest level and said talks with the club quickly convinced him of the project. He is eager to represent a traditional club, play in front of its fans and meet his new team-mates.
