1. FC Köln have landed Bayern Munich youngster Felipe Chavez on loan until the end of the season after a deadline-day agreement. According to BuLi News, the 18-year-old becomes another youthful addition this window.

Chavez made his senior Bayern debut against Wolfsburg on matchday 16 just under a month ago. Born in 2007, he is among the youngest in the Köln squad.

He now has the chance of greater minutes in a youthful side that sit 10th in the Bundesliga, five points clear of the relegation zone.

He follows Jahmai Simpson-Pusey as a second young addition from a Champions League side and could offer a double-flank option alongside Said El Mala.

The loan includes a reported €800,000 option to buy, which could be a bargain if he earns a rotation role this season.

“We are convinced we can provide the optimal framework and conditions to consistently showcase his talent and develop his game,” sporting director Kessler said. He added: “He is a very interesting profile for our squad. His attacking abilities and positional variety gives us additional variety in midfield.”

Chavez trained with 1. FC Köln for the first time on Tuesday and was warmly received. Their next match is on Sunday at home to RB Leipzig.
