Roy Keane remarked on a drop in standards at Old Trafford after Manchester United confirmed a share of the spoils with Arsenal in the Premier League.
The former Red Devils star seemed a little disappointed at the positive reception from the home support in the aftermath.
“We used to get booed off for a draw. But there you go, how things have changed. Now they get cheered off. Amazing,” the ex-Republic of Ireland international spoke on Sky Sports’ coverage.
“Before the game, United would have been worried. It’s a decent draw for them and it showed some battling qualities.”
To give the hosts credit where credit is due, they might have ran away with all three points against the title hopefuls had there been strikers in the mood to take their chances.
Both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirzkee were somewhat guilty of the opposite in that respect, with Bruno Fernandes’s free-kick goal the difference-maker.

To be completely fair to our No.9, he had just over a quarter of an hour to make an impact on the tie against one of the best defences in the Premier League.
He didn’t really make a dent, producing just the one blocked shot in his second-half cameo against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
However, it couldn’t really be labelled any worse than Zirkzee’s display, with the 23-year-old Dutchman finding himself utterly stifled on Sunday.
The forward was supremely fortunate to have been awarded a score as high 6.4/10 (just shy of Hojlund’s 6.6/10) given he only supplied a single shot on target in 76 minutes of action.
Sofascore also recorded only one duel win (out of seven attempts across ground and air) in another disappointing showing for United.
You have to feel at least some sympathy for the lack of reliable offensive central options at Ruben Amorim’s disposal in 2024/25.
Perhaps of even greater disappointment for our head coach, however, will be Zirkzee’s ineffectuality in other areas during the 1-1 draw with the Gunners.
Not the Dutchman’s finest outing in the Premier League, and you’d have to imagine that our head coach won’t be best pleased when reviewing the match footage back at Carrington.
On the plus side, the only way is up for the attacker ahead of our hosting of Real Sociedad next Thursday.
