Tonight's results also set up a rematch of the United States' memorable Round of 16 clash with Belgium from the 2014 World Cup.

FULL-TIME: USA 2-0 BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

The United States win their first World Cup knockout game since 2002 despite playing the final 15 minutes down a man!

Unbelievable scenes in Santa Clara.

We're into 10 minutes of second-half stoppage-time!

Some great maturity shown by this United States team as they are now on their way to a first knockout win in more than 20 years.

GOAL USA!

They have the insurance they need after Malik Tillman scores from a direct free-kick to double the lead!

ANOTHER GOAL RULED OUT FOR THE USA!

Christian Pulisic looked to have bundled the ball over the line in a chaotic goalmouth scramble, but the flag comes up to rule out the goal as Pulisic had just strayed offside before the goal.

The U.S. will need to dig in now as Bosnia and Herzegovina will look to pour on the pressure in the final 15 minutes.

RED CARD FOR THE UNITED STATES

Balogun has been giving his marching orders for the challenge! The U.S. bench is bewildered by the decision, but they will play the remainder of the match with 10 men!

Well now hold on, the referee is heading to the monitor to check for a red card on USA goalscorer Folarin Balogun, whose studs raked down the back of the leg of a Bosnian player in a coming together.

This match has been an absolute slugfest. Physicality has certainly reigned supreme!

An unfortunate moment for Bosnia and Herzegovina as veteran striker Edin Džeko is forced off with an injury. The 40-year-old is replaced, incidentally, by Bosnian-American forward Esmir Bajraktarević, who got his start in MLS.

The teams are back out and we are underway for the second-half!

HALF-TIME, USA 1-0 BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

Balogun's opener is the only goal in the tie so far, but the U.S. finished the half looking for more.

Balogun off the bar, it was nearly two!

The United States have ramped up the intensity since scoring the opener and Balogun nearly had his second of the night but a point-blank shot skims the crossbar and goes out for a goal-kick.

He is truly becoming the main man for Pochettino's side.

GOAL USA!

This time Balogun won't be denied! The striker pounces on a slight deflection to slot home from near the penalty spot. The United States have finally found their way through after probing for nearly the entire first-half.

It's Balogun's third goal of the tournament, and he has been the most dangerous player for the hosts throughout this opening interval.

USA GOAL RULED OUT!

Balogun appeared to be the beneficiary of a Bosnian turnover in a dangerous area, but the linesman's flag went up after the Monaco man tucked home the would-be opener.

Penalty shout for the USA!

Folarin Balogun appeared to skip by his defender before being taken down but the referee waves away the protestations of the U.S. players.

We've reached the first hydration break in what has been a pretty attritional affair. There has been very little space for Mauricio Pochettino's side to play into.

Bosnia keeper Nikola Vasilj is down after taking an inadvertent knee to the face and is requiring some treatment.

The USA have seen most of the ball in the opening 12 minutes, but the two best chances have fallen to their opponent.

From the resulting corner Freese has had to make an acrobatic save to stop Bosnia from scoring an olimpico!

Big chance for Bosnia and Herzegovina as Edin Džeko played in strike-partner Ermedin Demirović, but his effort just stings the palms of Matt Freese.

The USA have taken control of the game early on here, pinning their visitors deep into their own half.

Chance for Christian Pulisic! The U.S. talisman went on a mazy run before firing his shot wide off of a Bosnian defender.

It's an early corner for Bosnia, but the U.S. deal well with the traffic in front of goalkeeper Matt Freese.

The ball is rolling in the Bay Area and we are underway! Winner of this matchup will take on Belgium in the last-16 on Monday.

The teams are out for the anthems and kickoff from Santa Clara is just around the corner!

You can add Edin Džeko to the list of players making history at this World Cup...

Next up, the United States look to join fellow co-hosts Canada and Mexico in the Round of 16, as they take on Bosnia and Herzegovina at San Francisco Bay Area Stadium.

Here's how both sides will start the match.

END OF EXTRA-TIME: BELGIUM 3-2 SENEGAL

After an utterly dominant first 86 minutes of football, Senegal have remarkably been knocked out of the World Cup, following a 120th minute winner for the Red Devils.

GOAL FOR BELGIUM

Tielemans steps up and fires his penalty into the top-right corner to surely win it for the Red Devils.

Simply incredible!

PENALTY FOR BELGIUM

After going to the monitor, referee has awarded a penalty to Belgium in the 120th minute!

After a lengthy VAR check, the referee goes to the monitor, as Tielemans appears to have been brought down in the box by Lamine Camara...

OFF THE CROSSBAR

The ball fell to Lukébakio in the middle of the box, but the Belgian's shot deflects off the top of the crossbar.

Senegal breathe a huge sigh of relief.

Huge chance for Senegal as Ibrahim Mbaye puts a first-time effort just wide.

The first period of extra-time has come to an end.

And, after looking second-best for the vast majority of the match, Belgium now look like the more likely team to score.

As the ball comes in, Lukaku tries swinging a boot at it, but he just can't make proper contact.

Unsurprisingly, both sides have calmed things down in the opening minutes of extra-time.

And we're underway in extra-time!

END OF REGULATION: BELGIUM 2-2 SENEGAL

After the Belgians' dramatic, three-minute comeback, we're heading to extra-time in Seattle!

GOAL FOR BELGIUM

Out of seemingly nowhere, Belgium are level. Mory Diaw comes out to punch the ball, but Youri Tielemans beats him to it with a leaping header.

It's 2-2!!!

GOAL FOR BELGIUM

Another game, another goal for Romelu Lukaku. The half-time substitute pops up at the near-post and gives Belgium a lifeline.

Mané forces Courtois into a low, diving save before the play was eventually called back for offside.

Dodi Lukébakio tries to curl one from distance, but the Belgian's strike is just wide.

Despite their desperate need for goals, Belgium have yet to really threaten Mory Diaw's net.

It remains 2-0 as we enter the second-half hydration break.

GOAL FOR SENEGAL

Senegal double their lead thanks to a brilliant ball over-the-top from Moussa Niakhaté and a powerful finish from Ismaïla Sarr.

It is Sarr's fourth goal of the tournament!

Half-time substitution for Belgium as Rudi Garcia sends on Romelu Lukaku.

After an excellent first-half performance, Senegal are just 45 minutes away from their first win in the World Cup knockouts since 2002.

HALF-TIME: SENEGAL 1-0 BELGIUM

Excellent long-range strike from Belgium's Maxim De Cuyper, but Diaw makes an equally excellent diving save.

Jérémy Doku's shot deflects up off his defender and into the goalkeeper's gloves.

Another good chance for Senegal as Sadio Mané cuts in off the left, firing low and into the arms of Courtois.

We've just returned from the first hydration break with Senegal thoroughly dominating proceedings thus far.

GOAL FOR SENEGAL

Courtois is beaten as Senegal strike the post once again, before Habib Diarra pounces on the rebound to tap in the opener.

OFF THE POST

Huge chance for Senegal as Ismail Jakobs' excellent cross beats Thibaut Courtois, but Ismaïla Sarr just can't find the finishing touch.

Big let off for the Red Devils!

Leandro Trossard takes Belgium's first shot on goal, but it's an easy save for Mory Diaw.

Senegal are making their presence felt early as they look to attack down the flanks.

KICK-OFF

Belgium get things underway in Seattle!

The teams are heading out for the national anthems with kick-off soon to follow...

With today's start against Senegal, Belgium's Thibaut Courtois has the third-most men's World Cup appearances as a goalkeeper, just behind Manuel Neuer (23) and Hugo Lloris (20).

Next up in our triple-header of games is Belgium against Senegal. Here's the line-ups for both sides.

FULL TIME: ENGLAND 2-1 DR CONGO

They were made to sweat for it but England are heading back to Mexico City Stadium on Sunday for a last-16 showdown with Mexico. Credit to DR Congo, though, for giving Tuchel's side their toughest game of the tournament so far.

Another six minutes' added time at the end of this one. Will England hold on or is there another twist in the tale?

A generational talent

GOAL! ENGLAND 2-1 DR CONGO

The Three Lions are roaring into the last 16 after Kane doubles his tally

CHANCE!

DR Congo having some joy now as Elia sends a cross in which is half-cleared back to him on the left. He decides to have a crack but it's tame enough for Pickford.

GOAL! ENGLAND 1-1 DR CONGO

It's been coming and England are finally level. Kane heads home from Gordon's cross.

Fresh out of the break, Tuchel changes things again with Eze replacing Spence. That's also meant Rice is currently operating at right-back. It's a bold strategy, certainly.

We've hit the second hydration break of the game and it might again be beneficial for England, who are already out of ideas at the midway point of this half.

There's changes for DR Congo, too, as Mbuku makes way for Elia

Tuchel rings the changes as Gordon replaces Rashford while Saka comes on for Madueke

CHANCE!

It's still one-way traffic for England but Mpasi is continuing to have the game of his life with another superb save to deny Bellingham's swerving effort at his near post.

CHANCE!

Rashford drives down the lefthand side and has visions of emulating Cipenga's opener from the same position but drags his effort wide of the target.

The last break in play clearly benefited England. Some hope to cling to for Thomas Tuchel's men.

SECOND HALF

The opening half offered plenty. What will the next have in store?

HALF TIME - ENGLAND 0-1 DR CONGO

What an opening 45 minutes that was! Everything you could want from a World Cup knockout tie. The only shame is there hasn't been more goals.

CHANCE!

It's officially The Mpasi Show as Kane volleys a corner for the last kick of the half but the DR Congo pulls off another stunning save.

CHANCE!

Mpasi proving to be DR Congo's best performer so far as he denies Bellingham's effort from a Madueke cross with a superb reflex stop

There will be six minutes' added time at the end of the first half. How England could do with a leveller to give them some breathing space before the break

NO PENALTY!

There's controversy at the other end as Mpasi cuts across Kane. The England captain is appealing for a penalty but the referee waves him away. Any hopes of a VAR check are also swiftly dashed

OFF THE POST!

That could have been game over as Wan-Bissaka feeds a cross in from the right which Wissa meets in the middle of the box but his effort crashes back off Pickford's lefthand post.

England haven't won a World Cup game where they have conceded first since the 1966 final and the omens just keep on coming.

OFF THE LINE!

England are knocking on the door now and are unlucky not to level as Wan-Bissaka denies his former Manchester United teammate Rashford's effort on the line

CHANCE!

Rice is the architect again as he sends in a deep cross that Bellingham meets but Mpasi palms away brilliantly

CHANCE!

Better from England as Rice whips in a free kick which bounces off Konsa's right knee and flies narrowly wide of goal.

The first-half hydration break may have just arrived at the right time for the Three Lions to regroup. It's been total disarray out there and not just for the goal.

Frustrations growing for England on and off the pitch. Thomas Tuchel's side are really off the pace and supporters are now letting their team have it

We've already seen plenty of shocks in the Round of 32 with Germany and the Netherlands both bowing out at this stage. Could England become the third European nation to suffer an early knockout humiliation?

GOAL! ENGLAND 0-1 DR CONGO

The underdogs are ahead! Brian Cipenga makes history for DR Congo as England's defence are all at sea with Jordan Pickford well beaten at his near post.
