1,000 Lyon fans to back team in Brussels at Anderlecht

According to Le Progres, around 1,000 Lyon supporters will travel to Brussels to back their side at Anderlecht on Wednesday at 21:00, the opening fixture of the Europa League league phase.

Their planned trip to Paris last Saturday did not happen due to logistical issues after a possible travel ban, which was eventually authorised too late.

Links between the Lyon 1950 ultras and Anderlecht’s Mauves Army are close, with a large banner unfurled in the Virage Sud at Groupama Stadium on 22 March marking 20 years of friendship.

Anderlecht will host OL at Lotto Park.

The Belgian side boosted confidence with a 1-0 league win at Mechelen, secured by Tawfik Bentayeb.
