A report from Bruno Andrade for ESPN Brazil expands on the rumours that have been around for a couple of weeks that Barcelona want Joao Pedro.
The report indicates that the Spanish giants have been working on a deal for the striker for more than a month, as the backup should they fail to sign Julian Alvarez from city rivals Atletico.
JP has been “approved” by Hansi Flick, and is considered a cheaper option than Alvarez, even though a price tag of €100m is reported.
That would allow Chelsea to make serious profit on a player they bought just a year ago. But given he’s done well in his first year at Stamford Bridge, we can’t see the club deciding to cash in. He’s one of the few success stories from the sporting directors, and they’ll want to build with the former Brighton man.
Barcelona also aren’t in much of a position to spend that sort of money.
Enzo Fernandez’s holiday to Madrid caused a bit of a stir, but nobody was actually annoyed by that, and his manager defended him.
Calum McFarlane knows that getting Stamford Bridge onside is going to be huge for him on Monday, and he spoke about how he can do that.
