Arsenal may have been linked with RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa at points this summer, but it seems he’s not paying attention to media speculation.
The talented young Norway international looks an exciting prospect after six goals and six assists last season, as well as some eye-catching displays for his country at this summer’s World Cup.
Nusa is understood to be someone Arsenal admire, though it seems this has not yet led to anything concrete negotiations or offers taking place.
See below as Fabrizio Romano has quoted Nusa himself as playing down talk of him leaving, as he’s only focused on Leipzig…
“Media can write whatever they want… I never asked to leave Leipzig. I’m here back from vacation, focused on Leipzig,” he said.
Arsenal could do with someone like Nusa as a Plan B to Vinicius Junior, but it now seems unlikely that the 21-year-old is a realistic option for them.
It looks like Vini Jr and Nusa have got away from Arsenal, while Morgan Rogers also notably ended up joining Chelsea earlier this summer despite strong links with the Gunners.
It feels a bit like AFC are running out of options, but one name to watch could be Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola.
A recent report from talkSPORT stated that if Arsenal miss out on Vinicius, then Barcola could be one to watch, even if Liverpool remain the slight favourites for the moment.
The France international seems like one of the better options out there, but he’d likely be expensive, and a bidding war with Liverpool seems far from ideal.
It will be interesting to see who else the Premier League champions could turn to, but it is surely time for them to spend big on an upgrade on the inconsistent Gabriel Martinelli.
