Enzo Fernandez’s future is no closer to being resolved, despite a Chelsea deadline passing by. There’s still plenty of talk about a move.

Chelsea’s summer so far has been a big success by most accounts – but the biggest question mark of all still hangs out there.

Enzo Fernandez pushed to leave at the end of last season, and his future doesn’t seem any closer to being resolved. The deadline Chelsea put for any bids for him has passed, but that hasn’t stopped speculation about him moving to Man City, especially now Rodri has gone to Barcelona.

Chelsea and Man City in delicate midfielder dance as deadline closes in

Kieran Gill’s Chelsea Confidential piece today about the midfielder has some interesting thoughts from Chelsea sources. They told him that, “money aside, it is now more about strengthening versus weakening the squad for them at this stage. If Fernandez were sold to City now, Chelsea would have limited time to recruit a replacement.”

The price was £120m. With every day that passes, the amount Chelsea would get charged for a replacement will go up.

In other news…

Aaron Anselmino is looking more and more like he will be part of Chelsea’s main squad this season, an interesting decision from Xabi Alonso given the defender’s injury history.

Reggie Walsh has joined Wigan on loan, and we can’t wait to see how the promising youngster gets on in the senior game.

Even with Walsh gone there are another 10 or so players Chelsea need to deal with before the deadline, with loans and sales expected in a flurry in the weeks to come.
