Liverpool's academy has produced another gem with a 15-year-old writing club history over the weekend.

All eyes were on the first team on Saturday with Arne Slot's men dismantling Everton and continuing their perfect record in the Premier League.

It was a routine win for Liverpool, and for the first time in a while they did not need a late moment of magic to secure the three points.

This time around, they were holding onto their lead for much of the second-half.

It was a proud moment for Liverpool's academy as well. There were two players from the club's academy who featured in the game with Conor Bradley starting and Curtis Jones coming on in the second-half.

The bench also had a place for Rio Ngumoha.

Away from Anfield, around the same time, Liverpool's U18s were taking on Blackburn.

It was a very young side who took to the field with two debutants in Erik Farkas, who had only just celebrated his 16th birthday a few days ago and Joshua Abe.

Ultimately, Liverpool lost 8-3, with Alvin Ayman being sent off.

But this was a landmark moment for the latter of the two debutants. At just 15 years, two months and three days old, Abe wrote Liverpool history.

He is now the fifth youngest player to ever make a debut for the club's U18 side. Only Josh Davidson, LaMore Forrested, Keyrol Figueroa and Francis Gyimah had made their debuts at a younger age.

It means Abe had debuted at a younger age at U18 level than Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jayden Danns and Curtis Jones, who were all 15-years-old as well when they debuted but several months older.

This is not going to be a solitary appearance for Abe either. He's very much regarded as Liverpool's second choice right-winger at U18 level. Unlike the players who made their debuts at a younger age than him, Abe will be playing more games, whereas the quintet ahead of him all had to wait a long time to make another appearance for the U18s again.

With Joe Bradshaw not involved and likely set to be promoted to the U21 team, Abe will be getting more minutes at this level for the rest of the season.

He's already played an age-group above as well, making his debut for the U21s in a friendly match.

Liverpool recognise that he's a special talent and they are promoting him at an unprecedented age. They see Abe as potentially as good of a player at the same age as Ngumoha.

He's definitely regarded as the best player at his age-group in the country.

So, this was just the first moment of history written by Abe at Liverpool. The next one he will have set his sights on is becoming the youngest player to score for the U18 team.

That's a record held by Bradshaw, who was 15-years, three months and 20 days old when he opened his account. So, Abe has just over a month to overtake him.
