Reading are set for a busy summer ahead, and there are 16 players that are currently set to depart, although new deals could be offered.
Reading are set for another summer rebuild, with the Berkshire-based side preparing for another season in League One.
There is certainly some growing frustration around the Select Car Leasing Stadium at the moment, with Leam Richardson's tactical style coming under fire from large sections of the club's supporters.
Some will argue that Richardson doesn't have 'his' players to suit the supposed style, but they're definitely in the minority nowadays. Rob Couhig has recently thrown his backing behind Richardson though, and so it seems as though he'll be trusted with the rebuild of the first-team squad this summer.
Reading have plenty of loanees returning to their parent clubs this summer, as well as others whose contracts are set to expire at the end of the 2025/26 League One season.
We'll take you through all the players that are set to depart at this moment in time, although this list is subject to change, as the Royals could look to keep some of the players at the club.

Elliott's spell with Reading has been mixed since he signed from Chelsea. The midfielder arrived with some injury history which was slightly concerning, and that ultimately is likely to cost him a new deal with the Royals.
He's caught the eye for his creative ability when featuring for the Berkshire-based side, but has been ruled out for the majority of the 2025/26 campaign with a long-term injury problem.
It seems unlikely that he'll be offered a new deal by Reading, which is a shame, as he's a player that has plenty of talent when he's fit.

Plenty of Reading supporters will be hoping that Andy Rinomhota is offered a new deal, although his supposed injury record is another concern.
The midfielder signed for Reading back in 2025, which was his second spell with the club, but he didn't make a single senior appearance until April, where he took on former club, Cardiff City.
Rinomhota was a rare bright spark in that defeat to the Bluebirds, and he's already shown enough in that game to warrant a new deal, as he was one of the few players to show a bit of fight and passion.

Dorsett has been with the club since 2018, having come through the club's academy system. He's been a versatile option to have in Leam Richardson's squad, and the Reading boss has previously praised him for that.
Dorsett has primarily been played at left-back this season, and given Reading's lack of depth in that area, it wouldn't come as much of a surprise to see him offered a new contract before his current deal expires.

Andy Yiadom has been with Reading since 2018, and has seen plenty of highs and lows with the club. He's one of the few players that are likely to still be on relatively high wages, and so it seems unlikely he'll be offered a new contract.
The full-back hasn't featured much in this year's League One campaign, and despite his experience which could have been useful, it's probably best for all parties involved for him to depart.

Keane signed for Reading on loan from Preston North End earlier this year, and has found it tough to make any sort of notable impact.
Leam Richardson has already admitted that Keane isn't likely to move to Reading permanently, which will be pleasing to hear for plenty of supporters, who haven't been at all impressed with his performances since moving to the club.

Young hasn't been given much of a chance in the Reading team since signing on loan from Aston Villa in the January transfer window.
When he has been involved, he's caught the eye with his burst of pace, and it's a shame that this deal hasn't worked out for both parties, as Young is a player that has plenty of potential.

Nyambe arrived in Berkshire in January, as he signed on loan from Derby County. The full-back has been one of the few loan players to make a relatively positive impact in his time with the club.
He's kept Andy Yiadom and Kelvin Abrefa out of the team since arriving, but Leam Richardson has already revealed that it's unlikely that Nyambe will return to the club on a permanent basis.

There were high hopes for Burns when he signed for the Royals on loan from Manchester City, but he's been pushed down the pecking order since Derrick Williams' arrival.
Williams struck up a strong partnership with Paudie O'Connor, which has left Burns occupying a spot on the substitutes bench for much of the 2025/26 season.

Abrefa has found regular minutes hard to come by under Leam Richardson's management, having previously been featuring on a more frequent basis under Noel Hunt.
The full-back is still only 22, and so it wouldn't be too surprising to see him offered a new deal, only because it seems likely that Andy Yiadom will depart the club this summer.

Camara was another player that had featured under previous Reading manager, Noel Hunt, but has barely been seen since Leam Richardson took charge of the Royals.
The winger has spent most of the year with Reading's Under-21's, and so it wouldn't be at all surprising to see him leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the 2025/26 season.
