There may be less than two weeks left of the summer transfer window but, that doesn't mean that changes can't still occur.
Liverpool still have a lot of problems that they need to solve and, if they don't manage to do this, they could end up in some serious bother.
Obviously, the Reds' fanbase will be hoping that just the introduction of Andoni Iraola will be enough to get the Reds over the line and get them back to the high standards that they used to set.
However, if players such as Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Alexander Isak all perform like they did during Arne Slot's last season in charge, there's not a chance that Liverpool will come out better off.
This is why fans have been demanding that changes are made.
Without bringing in Ronaldo Araujo, Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz already, it's unlikely that Liverpool would even have a decently-sized squad at their disposal for their opening game against Newcastle.
However, with all these changes, some sacrifices will need to be made and for one player, it seems like now is the best time for them to call it quits.
Wataru Endo has been a solid player for Liverpool ever since he joined from for £16 million Stuttgart back in 2023.
In fact, he was even seen as Jurgen Klopp's closer during the time that the German managed him.
He's unfortunately never been a regular starter for the Anfield outfit but, whether he's been used as a number six, a right-back or a centre-back, he's always put in as much effort as humanly possible.
However, now that he's entered the final year of his contract and is just returning from a serious injury, it's unclear how much time he's got left at the top level.
That's why the latest news about James McConnell to emerge from Anfield could mark the end of the 33 year old's Liverpool career.
"James McConnell’s loan move to Preston has been kiboshed – for now at least – by Liverpool in the last days despite regular game-time being promised," Lewis Steele wrote.
"He was told by Iraola he is part of his plans after impressing in training and there will be minutes for him in the first team this year."

Ever since the start of the 2026-27 summer transfer window, Liverpool's fanbase expected there to be countless changes at Anfield.
And, while three new players have been welcomed, it still feels like some more need to be brought in before Liverpool are ready to take on the season.
Their attack is their most problematic area at the moment with a replacement for Mohamed Salah still not found yet.
Of course, many of the attackers at Iraola's disposal can be used on the right if needed but, if Liverpool want to be challenging for silverware, they need to add someone such as Bradley Barcola to their ranks.
However, with all of their non-homegrown spots in their squad now full, some sacrifices will need to be made.
At the moment, getting rid of Calvin Ramsay and Endo makes the most sense but, that only frees up two spots.
If the Reds end up wanting a couple more players who aren't homegrown, they're going to struggle.
Here's hoping that the decisions about the future of some Liverpool players are made before it becomes too late.
