An Overview of the Nominations

U16: Ejodamen for ItalyJustin Ejodamen, a member of BVB’s U16 squad, was already in action last week: The midfielder was called up to play for Italy’s U16 team from September 13–17.

U17: Eight Players, Three FederationsFive U17 players are part of the DFB’s U16 squad (born in 2011) and will participate in the 4-Nation Tournament at the DFB Campus—where they’ll face Poland, Austria, and Greece. The squad includes goalkeeper Jayden Kusi, defenders Maximilian Nass and Nathanael Owusu, and forwards Adam Braham and Edon Qetinaj. Midfielder Niclas Goldberg is also scheduled to play in the German U17 team’s (born in 2010) 4-Nation Tournament, which is taking place concurrently in Duisburg against England, Israel, and Venezuela. All six are expected back in Dortmund in early October.

Two other BVB U17 players are representing other national associations: Emre Kirar will wear the Turkish U17 jersey from September 20 through October 7. Georgios Zisopoulos will play for Greece from September 21 through 30.

U19: Eleven players, three of whom are on standbyA total of eleven players from the U19 squad have been nominated. Eight of them have been officially called up: Hamzath Mohamadou, Lenni Strößner, Ahmad Najdi, and Levin Vogt are part of the DFB squad. On the international stage, Bjarki Gardarsson will represent Iceland, Justin Hoy will play for Poland, and Miguel Adje will play for Switzerland. Liam Kanté has been called up for Croatia.

Three additional U19 players have been named as standbys: Luke Fahrenhorst is on standby for the DFB U19 tournament in Spain against Ukraine, the Czech Republic, and Finland, while Keron Hagemann and Till Burkhardt could be called up at short notice to join the U17 national team for the 4-Nation Tournament in Duisburg.

U23: Zarqelain and Riedl at the DFB Prospect CampFrom the U23 squad, Fadi Zarqelain and Jan-Luca Riedl are participating in the DFB Prospect Camp in Grünberg. Zarqelain is on call from September 22 to 26, and Riedl will follow from September 27 to 30.
