Goals either side of half-time from debutant Thomas Keller and Jakob Lemmer secured a vital three points for Thomas Stamm’s side at the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion, lifting Dresden off the foot of the table in the process.

Fürth began the contest on the front foot, with Noel Futkeu causing early problems for the Dresden back line. The forward went close to opening the scoring inside five minutes, but could only glance his header narrowly wide. However, it took just 20 minutes for Dresden to wrestle back control, steadily growing into the game as the home crowd urged them forward.

The breakthrough arrived on the 35-minute mark. Alexander Rossipal’s corner was met by Thomas Keller, who rose highest to head home and mark his debut with a goal, sending Dresden into the interval with a deserved 1-0 lead.

Five minutes after the restart, Dresden doubled their advantage in emphatic fashion. Jakob Lemmer collected the ball outside the penalty area and unleashed a powerful low strike past Timo Schlieck to make it 2-0. Fürth looked shellshocked and struggled to muster any meaningful response to either goal.

The visitors came closest late on when Omar Sillah struck the post, but it proved to be little more than a consolation moment. Fürth failed to build any sustained pressure, ultimately handing Thomas Stamm’s side what was arguably their most straightforward victory of the campaign.

A huge win for Dresden, their first since the end of November, sees them leapfrog Fürth into 17th place. For Heiko Vogel’s side, it was a disastrous afternoon, leaving them rooted to the bottom of the table and winless since 7 November.
