Preußen Münster and Greuther Fürth dented their survival hopes after a goalless draw keeps them in the relegation zone. In a game of fewer chances, neither team had enough quality to take all the points.

As expected, the teams were very poor in the final third, but there was surprisingly no yellow card issued by the referee in what was supposed to be a hard-fought encounter. With Eintracht Braunschweig and Magdeburg yet to play their games on matchday 29, there is a real danger of the gap with the rest growing for the two teams.

It’s back-to-back goalless draws for the hosts in the home debut for Alois Schwartz, while the solitary point ended a two-game losing streak for Fürth. Including next week’s game away at league leaders Schalke, Münster will face four teams in the top-five in the remaining five weeks.

On paper, Fürth have relatively easier fixtures, but they will first face promotion hopefuls Darmstadt next weekend.
