Nürnberg will host Kaiserslautern on Saturday afternoon in a 2. Bundesliga midtable clash. The visitors are in seventh place, but the gap between them and the top three made it almost impossible to think about a late surge for promotion.
Miroslav Klose's side are also seven points adrift of the relegation playoff spot. The World Cup legend saw his contract extended by the club despite mixed results in his first full season. On the other side, Torsten Lieberknecht had a decent start to the season before their decline in the roller-coaster promotion race.
Including the 1-1 draw last October, Klose already returned to his former stomping ground twice as a coach with his team picking up four points. The last three Kaiserslautern visits to the Max-Morlock Stadion all ended in draws.
