Three matches will conclude the matchday ten action in 2. Bundesliga on Sunday afternoon. Kaiserslautern will host Nürnberg in a match between two improved teams in recent weeks. Fellow promotion hopefuls Hannover travel to Braunschweig, while bottom-placed 1. FC Magdeburg entertain Preußen Münster.

Kaiserslautern vs. 1. FC Nürnberg

Nürnberg ended an eight-game winless run against Kaiserslautern in the final weeks of last season. Mirolsav Klose’s side started this campaign in poor form, but they avoided defeat in back-to-back games for the first time with a win that ended Daniel Thioune’s Düsseldorf stay and a draw at home against Holstein Kiel.

As for the hosts, they have won five of their last six fixtures. Like Schalke, Torsten Lieberknecht’s side is now surprisingly in contention for a promotion to the Bundesliga. Ivan Prtajin’s excellent form is a big reason for their renaissance as the Croat striker found the net eight times in their last four wins.

Team News

Fabian Kunze, who wore the captain's armband in the win over Karlsruhe, is suspended for accumulated yellow cards. Meanwhile, the first captain, Marlon Ritter, will hope to regain a starting berth after scoring the injury-time winner. Klose will most likely use the same starting XI from the draw with Kiel.

Predicted Lineups

Nürnberg: Reichert; Drexler, Gruber ©, Lochoshvili, Yilmaz; Markhiev; Becker, Diop; Justvan, Lubach, Zoma

Eintracht Braunschweig vs. Hannover

Braunschweig only lost to Hannover once in seven home encounters since the turn of the century. Heiner Backhaus won his first two games at the helm before picking up only a single point from the next six. However, Braunschweig returned to winning ways last weekend with a hard-fought 2-1 victory in Düsseldorf.

The visitors are yet to lose a game away from home this season. However, they’ve only managed a single win from the previous five matches with 3-0 home defeats at either end of the streak.

Team News

There are ten players currently on the sidelines from Hannover, but Braunschweig have a full squad with the only exception being Lukas Frenkert’s muscle injury.

Hannover: Noll; Ghita, Tomiak, Blank; Matsuda, Leopold ©, Neubauer; Taibi; Chakroun, Rochelt; Källman

Magdeburg vs.Preußen Münster

Magdeburg are winless since matchday two, but they finally earned their first point since then with a goalless draw away at Hannover last weekend. Preußen Münster also managed a single win from the last five, but they avoided a fourth defeat in that timeframe with a late draw at home against Dynamo Dresden.

2. Bundesliga’s bottom-placed team last scored in a 5-4 defeat against Greuther Fürth at the end of August. That was the first time they conceded five since losing 5-0 at home to Preußen Münster at the end of last season.

Team News

There are four players in total from the two teams who are currently on four yellow cards, which means they will be suspended with one more caution. The visitors will be missing experienced center-back Paul Jaeckel on Sunday because of a suspension for five yellow cards.
