Transfer rumours have gone a little quiet at the moment when it comes to Chelsea as we all wait to see how the season ends.
We’re on the cusp of the Champions League – but also look probably more likely to miss out than to make it. That has a huge effect on the players we might be able to sign, as well as the budgets we would have to sign them.
It’s also hard to know which positions we will be targeting without knowing how easy it will be to sell certain players. If we’re capable of shifting the likes of Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix for decent fees, we can see us pursuing another attacking midfielder, and it seems we’ve got our eyes on a Serie A talent already.
CaughtOffside say that we’re interested in 20 year old Como starlet Nico Paz. With 6 goals and 7 assists for a team with one of the smaller budgets in the league, it’s no wonder top Premier League sides likes the Blues and Tottenham are interested.

Cole Palmer’s slump reaching seriously worrying depths also sharpen the need for alternatives in the middle. Paz could certainly be used in a similar style – hopefully more effectively than the likes of Felix or Nkunku.
Whether we make it to the Champions League or not, Paz could be a really nice option, with a €30m asking price possibly enough to get the job done. A full Argentine international, Paz looks set to keep getting better and better, and we can’t see him staying at Como for much longer, whatever happens with Chelsea’s interest.
Once our Champions League future is decided, this is very much one to watch out for.
