MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship will take place from May 29 through June 8 at Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto in Alajuela, Costa Rica.
The tournament will determine the champion of the region and the four participating nations from Concacaf in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Poland 2026.

What
The 2025 Concacaf U-20 Women’s Championship will be disputed between eight teams, the first-place team from each group (six teams in total) from the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Qualifiers and the two pre-seeded top-ranked nations.
Teams will compete in a Group Stage to determine the qualifying nations to the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and semifinalists for the trophy. The Knockout Round will feature single-leg elimination matches to determine a champion of the region.

The 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship will take place from May 29 to June 8.
The following are the dates for each stage:
· Group Stage: May 29 to June 3
· Semifinals: June 6
· Final: June 8

Where
All matches in the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship will take place at Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

History
This will be the 13th edition of the Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship. The United States are the all-time winners with six conquests. Mexico are the defending champions of the competition and the nation with the second-most trophies, with two.
Originally played in the U-19 category, the tournament officially changed to U-20 in 2006. The North Americas have dominated the U-20 Championships, as all the trophies have been between the three countries in that region.
This will be the first time Costa Rica hosts the Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship. The nation will be the fourth from Central America to do so after Guatemala (2010), Panama (2012), and Honduras (2015).

Format
Teams were drawn into two teams of four, with the top two pre-seeded teams placed in separate groups. Each team will play each other once in round-robin format during the Group Stage. Teams will receive three points for a win, one for a draw and zero for a loss.
Following the official draw on March 26, the groups are as follow:
· Group A: United States, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Guyana
· Group B: Mexico, Canada, Panama, Nicaragua
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals and secure a berth in the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship. The first-place teams will play against the second-place teams from the opposite group in the semifinals, with the two winners advancing to the championship game.
The semifinals and final will be played in a single-leg elimination. If both teams are tied at the end of regular time during the knockout stage, extra
time will be played. Each team will have one additional substitution and one additional substitution opportunity during extra time. If the score is tied at the end of extra time the matches will go straight to kicks from the penalty mark per the Laws of the Game.
Qualification for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup
The winner of the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship, the runner-up, and the third and fourth place teams will clinch a ticket to the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
