The fixtures for the 2025 K League 2 season have finally been announced. Relegated Incheon United begin life in the second tier at home to Gyeongnam FC on Saturday 22nd February, while newcomers Hwaseong FC will start their new chapter away to Seongnam FC the following day.
The K League released the full fixtures for the forthcoming season on Thursday 16th January, including a Round 1 card of Incheon United vs. Gyeongnam FC, Cheonan City vs. Jeonnam Dragons, Busan IPark vs. Gimpo FC, and Ansan Greeners vs. Suwon Bluewings on Saturday before Seongnam FC take on Hwaseong FC, Seoul E-Land entertain Chungnam Asan, and Bucheon FC 1995 face Chungbuk Cheongju the following day.
Hwaseong's first home game as a K League 2 club will come in Round 2 when Cha Du-ri's side take on last season's surprise package and runners-up Chungnam Asan.
With Hwaseong FC's inclusion, there are now 14 teams in K League's second division which means no teams will need to sit three rounds out per season. It's a 39-round campaign for all clubs just like last year with three round robins running up until the 23rd of November but will mean 273 games before the playoffs begin on November 27th.
However, the playoff format will be finalised during February's K League board meeting.
One change this season is that K League 2 will continue throughout some of the international breaks, those being June, September, and October. The league will pause for the March and November international breaks.
There is only one midweek round of fixtures, that being Round 33 in October which will see matches played on Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th. There are, however, some Monday and Friday night games.
