Since Senegal's draw for the 2026 World Cup, reactions have been pouring in. Lamine Camara says he’s ready to take on Les Bleus of the French national team.
After AS Monaco’s defeat to Brest (1-0), Lamine Camara spoke about the 2026 World Cup draw. A draw that placed Senegal and France together in Group I, alongside Norway and a playoff winner yet to be determined.
“I haven’t looked yet, because I’m disappointed with the result so I haven’t been on my phone. We all know France is a great footballing nation, but for now we have to focus on the club and AFCON 2025—the World Cup is still a long way off. It’s not a bad draw, and we all remember that famous Senegal-France match in 2002, which I know very well because El Hadji Diouf always sends me videos of that game. I’d be delighted to take on France.” he said.
As a reminder, in 2002, the Lions of Teranga defeated Les Bleus in the opening match of the World Cup hosted by Japan and South Korea.
