"Our elders have already played this match. In Senegal, everyone knows about that 2002 game—El-Hadji Diouf often talks about it (laughs). It’s going to be a great match, they have a lot of talent. But so do we. So we’ll fight with our own weapons, and I think we can compete with the world’s best nations. We can win this kind of match, I hope we do, and we’ll give it everything we’ve got," the Villarreal midfielder told Téléfoot on Sunday.

As a reminder, in 2002 the Senegalese stunned the world by defeating the French (1-0).
