Ghana will be without two key players for their clash against Chad on September 4 in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
The Ghana Football Association has announced that Alexander Djiku and Joseph Paintsil will miss the trip to N'Djamena.
Alexander Djiku is currently in Moscow to sign a new contract, while Joseph Paintsil missed his flight from New York to Accra. He only arrived in Ghana this morning and was unable to travel with the rest of the squad to Chad.
The Black Stars' federation stated that the team traveled with 22 players, and both Djiku and Paintsil will be available to Otto Addo for the second match against Mali's Eagles on September 8.
Ghana currently tops Group I with 15 points, ahead of Comoros (12 pts), Madagascar (10 pts), Mali (9 pts), Central African Republic (5 pts), and Chad (0 pts).
