The African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, set to take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, are entering their decisive phase. The battle for qualification spots is heating up, with a fierce contest among several national teams.According to FIFA regulations, the winners of each of the nine groups secure a direct ticket to the World Cup. However, the four best second-placed teams will play in a continental play-off. The winner of that play-off will then advance to the intercontinental play-off, where they will face teams from Asia, North America, South America, and Oceania.

Meanwhile, two African teams have already punched their tickets to the 2026 World Cup. Morocco have dominated their group with 21 points, holding an 11-point lead over Tanzania.For their part, Tunisia, leading their group with 22 points, are ahead of Namibia, who have 15 points.
