2026 World Cup qualifiers – Algeria: last-minute change in Petkovic’s squad! (official)

The Algerian Football Federation has announced a last-minute change to the list of players called up for the decisive October training camp in the race to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. After picking up an injury with Espérance de Tunis last weekend, defender Tougai has been forced to withdraw from the squad. To fill the gap, Vladimir Petkovic has called up Zinedine Belaïd, the rock-solid central defender from JS Kabylie, who will bolster the Fennecs’ defensive line.
