2026 World Cup qualifiers: Burkina Faso Stallions return to the 4 August Stadium

Burkina Faso's first match is scheduled for September 4 against Djibouti, part of the seventh round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The following day, Brama Traoré's squad was complete and held their first training session at the 4 August Stadium in Ouagadougou since 2021.

It was a historic moment for some players who have become key figures in the squad but had never played in the legendary Stallions' fortress. Among them was star striker Dango Ouattara, who recently joined Brentford in the Premier League, and Cyriaque Irié Kalou of German side Freiburg.
