A wonderful season for Inter has just come to an end, but it is already time to look ahead: Lega Calcio Serie A has officially confirmed the calendar dates for the 2026/27 season.
The 2026/27 Serie A fixture list will be officially unveiled on Friday 5 June at 18:30 CEST in the stunning setting of the Teatro Regio in Parma, as part of the third edition of the Serie A Festival. While we wait to discover the path of the reigning Italian champions in the new campaign, the outline of the 2026/27 season is already beginning to take shape, with the Nerazzurri set to compete in Serie A, the Champions League, the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana.
The 2026/27 league season will begin over the weekend of 22–23 August 2026 and conclude on 29–30 May 2027. In between, there will be two midweek rounds of fixtures (28 October 2026 and 6 January 2027), three international breaks (with the first one longer than usual) and a Christmas break on 26–27 December 2026.
3 INTERNATIONAL BREAKS INSTEAD OF 4: From the 2026/27 season, the September and October FIFA international windows will be merged into one international break featuring four matchdays. As a result, the league will pause on consecutive weekends: Sunday 27 September and Sunday 4 October.
ASYMMETRY: The sequence of fixtures in the first half of the season will be different from the sequence in the second half.
8 MATCHDAY BREAK: There must be a minimum of eight matchdays between the first-leg and the second-leg fixtures against the same opponent.
MIDWEEK MATCHDAYS: Matchday 9 (28 October) and Matchday 18 (6 January) will be the two midweek matchdays of the 2026/27 Serie A Enilive season.
DERBIES: Derbies will be scheduled on different matchdays, not on the opening or last matchday, nor during the midweek matchday (matchday 9).
MATCHES BETWEEN TEAMS IN EUROPEAN COMPETITIONS: Clubs competing in the UEFA Champions League will not face clubs competing in the UEFA Europa League or the UEFA Europa Conference League on matchdays 7, 21, 25, 28, 31, and 34, which fall between two consecutive UEFA competitions rounds, and on matchday 4 for clubs competing in the UEFA Europa League.
ALTERNATION: Home and away alternation will apply to the following pairs of clubs: INTER AND MILAN, LAZIO AND ROMA, AND JUVENTUS AND TORINO.
Inter, the reigning Coppa Italia holders, will begin their campaign in the competition from the round of 16, scheduled to take place on 2 December 2026, 16 December 2026 and 13 January 2027.
