There have been a number of players from La Masia who have gone on to become important players for the FC Barcelona first team in the last few years. Players like Gavi, Alejandro Balde, Fermin Lopez, and Lamine Yamal are all important parts of this Blaugrana squad, and their roles in the Catalan team have also helped them get call-ups for their national teams.

Marc Casado has been the latest youngster to showcase his talents and establish himself as an important part of this Barcelona team.

With the prominence that Flick is giving him in this phase of the season, the 21-year-old midfielder has also caught the eye of the Spanish national team coach Luis de la Fuente, who gave Casado his debut with the senior Spain side in their last match against Denmark.

Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, the midfielder will have another opportunity to further cement his place in his national side as he is expected to start the game against Switzerland tomorrow.

Luis de la Fuente is without one of his key midfield pivots for this game, Martin Zubimendi, who is injured and has already left the national team camp to return to Real Sociedad. Thus, Casado is likely to take his place on the field against Switzerland.

Marc Casado was the 19th player to have made his debut under Luis de la Fuente in the game against Denmark. Before him, the Spanish coach has given players like Joselu, Baena, Pedraza, Bryan, Lamine Yamal, Fran García, Sancet, David García, Le Normand, Grimaldo, Riquelme, Aleix García, Cubarsí, Vivian, Ayoze, Fermín, Remiro and Sergio Gómez their debuts with the Spanish team.

Hopefully, Casado will take full advantage of this opportunity if he actually starts this upcoming game, and make a case for his continued presence in the Spanish squad in the build-up to the 2026 World Cup.
