The midfield remains one of the most competitive areas at FC Barcelona, with Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Dani Olmo, Fermin Lopez, Marc Bernal, Gavi, and Marc Casado all competing for the three central positions. In this context, the 22-year-old La Masia graduate could be one of the departures this summer.

Casado played an important role in Barça’s 2024–25 season, and last summer, he was already linked with an exit. At the time, Hansi Flick publicly expressed his desire to keep him. Ultimately, Casado chose to remain at the club.

However, his prominence has diminished significantly this season. Flick has already indicated that Tommy Marques will be given a more prominent role in the first team next season, leaving Casado further down the pecking order.

Casado had an opportunity to move to Saudi Arabia, and that option remains open. Interest has also emerged from the Premier League.

Initially committed to staying at Barcelona, Casado has now started to reconsider. His reduced playing time and the arrival of other young talents have prompted him to evaluate a move abroad.

According to Diario AS, he is seriously considering leaving Barcelona this summer, and all signs point to 2026 being the year Casado finally departs the club.

For Casado, the coming months could define the trajectory of his career. A move abroad would give him the chance to secure regular playing time, continue his development, and establish himself as a key figure elsewhere, marking the end of a chapter at Barcelona while opening a new one full of opportunity.
