Chelsea are heading into the one of the most crucial weeks of their season in terms of matches, with games against PSG and Newcastle to come.
But that hasn’t stopped transfer rumours being a big part of the picture. Today we’ve got a new one for you – Chelsea are being linked with West Ham full back El Hadji Malick Diouf.
The West Ham full back has been one of the bright spots in a season of relegation battling, and whether or not the Hammers stay up there’s going to be interest in him from other clubs.
Diouf joined West Ham in the summer for €22m, and will have significantly increased his market value since then, playing almost 2000 Premier League minutes and racking up 5 assists with his great delivery from the left.
Still just 21 years old, the Senegal international has really impressed and already looks ready to step up to a bigger club.
With Chelsea defender Axel Disasi on loan at West Ham since January and doing well, there’s another potential angle here – a part exchange where we give them Disasi and some money and get Diouf back.
Those deals are often hard to pull off, but can help both teams in PSR terms. It would require our London rivals to stay up, but if they do it could be on the cards.
Our interest in Diouf is certainly something to keep an eye on, especially if West Ham are relegated.
