FLW spoke to Sheffield United pundit Jimmy to ask for the price tag he would place on the club's two most valuable players.

Sheffield United are pushing for promotion back to the Premier League in 2024/25 and Chris Wilder has plenty of talent at his disposal.

The Blades have won three on the bounce to rise up the Championship table and keep the pressure on leaders Sunderland.

The Bramall Lane outfit may not have the depth of some of their promotion rivals but there can be no denying the quality of some of the players in red and white this season.

Ollie Arblaster and Gustavo Hamer named as Sheffield United's best players

Among the best the Blades have to offer are impressive youngster Ollie Arblaster and silky midfield maestro Gustavo Hamer.

The pair were picked out by FLW's Sheffield United fan pundit Jimmy, from the Blades Ramble YouTube channel, as their most valuable players at the moment and he slapped a combined £50 million price-tag on the pair, which is reflective of what they're worth to the club rather than what other teams might pay.

He said: "I'm sticking with my two best players being Gustavo Hamer and Ollie Arblaster, and I'm putting a price tag of £25 million on each.

"It is not necessarily the price that they are worth in terms of Gus being a £25 million Premier League player, it is how much they are worth to Sheffield United. These two players are absolutely integral to our promotion push."

Hamer, in particular, has, really shown his quality at Championship level this season. Four goals and one assist while being deployed in a wide playmaker role by Wilder represent impressive returns for the Dutch international.

His attacking stats - such as goals, xG, shots, xA, and chances created - put him among the best players in his position at the level this season (FotMob) while he offers plenty out of possession in terms of industry as well.

Last season was disappointing for the Blades as they were relegated from the Premier League but Hamer was one of the standout performers - finishing the campaign with four goals and six assists from midfield while creating 70 chances and putting up strong defensive numbers (FotMob).

Arblaster has been equally as impressive in the number 8 role. FLW's fan pundit commented: "One, if not both (of the selected players), will leave if we are not successful this season, but I think you have got to command a high price at this stage, particularly if it is going to be a January move which leaves us short."

To have fans valuing a player so highly at only 20 years of age is a testament to the technical capabilities and the composure he has shown throughout Sheffield United's campaign thus far.

But he's rated beyond just Bramall Lane and has been linked with a move to Premier League side Brighton.

Vinicius Souza also in contention for a future transfer

Jimmy was also quick to mention Vinicius Souza's quality when questioned about the club's best players.

He said: "Vini Souza is staking a claim for one of our most valuable players. I think he will command a very high price as and when we start receiving offers for him."

Signed for £10.4 million in the summer of 2023 from Espanyol, Souza was heavily criticised during Sheffield United's woeful return to the Premier League, as the central midfielder fell greatly below his pre-season expectations.

However, since returning to the second tier, the Brazilian international has been in excellent form, starting every one of Sheffield United's games so far this season. If he keeps up this fantastic form, it would seem very likely that he will join Hamer and Arblaster in attracting attention from a plethora of top sides.
