Manchester United will be aiming to return to winning ways when they host Arsenal at Old Trafford this afternoon.

The Red Devils are currently three points behind Chelsea and Newcastle United, who are seventh and sixth respectively in the league standings.

Both of those teams have a superior goal difference too. United must beat the Gunners to stand any chance of qualifying for Europe next term.

The Red Devils have a brilliant home league record against Arsenal with just one loss in 16 seasons.

A victory today would dent the Gunners’ slim prospects of winning the league.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Line-up:

Andre Onana has played every minute of the league campaign in goal. The Cameroonian star has had a mixed run of performances, but continues to remain the undisputed starter under manager Erik ten Hag.

In front of him, it could be the same defence from the 4-0 loss to Crystal Palace. Diogo Dalot could line up at left-back with Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back where he is most comfortable operating from.

Scott McTominay is available after a brief knee issue, but Ten Hag could continue with Casemiro and Jonny Evans in central defence, considering they have had more training sessions together.

McTominay could instead start in one of the defensive midfield roles alongside Kobbie Mainoo. Christian Eriksen is expected to be dropped to the bench on the back of multiple underwhelming displays.

Further forward, there could be a couple of changes. Bruno Fernandes missed his first senior game through injury on Monday, but the captain has been deemed fit to face the Gunners.

He is set to line up from the number 10 role ahead of Mason Mount, who is injured again.

Alejandro Garnacho should switch to the right wing with Marcus Rashford back in contention after an injury of his own. Rashford will return on the left wing with Antony dropping to the bench.

The 26-year-old has had a fine spell against Arsenal with four goals in his last three games.

Rasmus Hojlund is guaranteed to lead the line with Anthony Martial yet to make his comeback. His physical presence could be key to unsettling Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba.
