FC Barcelona have a very talented squad under Hansi Flick, with each position having two players of starting quality. The team is stacked with attacking and midfield options and has considerable quality in defence as well.
One player whose form has left much to be desired is Dani Olmo. The Spaniard has not been at his best in recent months, and it feels as though Fermin Lopez has superseded him as the starting #10 for Hansi Flick.
The 27-year-old playmaker signed for Barcelona last summer, having come through the academy. He had his moments in his first season, but injuries did not allow him to become a regular part of the team. Right now, his future is up in the air.
According to Fichajes, the next six months could prove decisive for Olmo’s future as a Barcelona player. Hansi Flick continues to give him opportunities, and it is up to him to stay fit and return to his best.
When Olmo is in form and playing well, there are not many players in world football better at operating in between the lines. However, with the plethora of options at Flick’s disposal, he needs to get his act together.
English clubs such as Manchester United and Tottenham have been interested in signing the player in the past, while Bayern Munich have never hidden their interest in signing a player who lit up the Bundesliga in the past.
Olmo still has a lot of value to add to the team, and all he needs is a good game to snap back into form. The bigger concern is whether his body will allow him to build continuity, and let us wait and see how things play out.
