Newcastle United full-back Emil Krafth has admitted to not wanting to leave England despite being way down Eddie Howe’s pecking order.
The veteran full-back was a genuine contender to leave St. James’ Park in the January window with Swedish club Malmo FF showing serious interest.
However, with the proposed transfer failing to materialise, Krath, who recently penned a one-year contract extension, ended up staying with the Magpies — much to his delight too.
“They [Malmo] were a bit optimistic,” he recently told Fotbollskanalen.

“I feel that I have a few years left abroad before that question should be addressed. But I feel that I’m not done abroad,” he said.
Going on to admit he could one day return to Sweden’s top flight, Krafth added: “Yeah, I feel that way. But at some point, it will certainly be Allsvenskan.”
During the 29-year-old’s time in the northeast, he has directly contributed to three goals from 75 games in all competitions.
