3 players Bristol Rovers must look at as Kofi Shaw is on the radar of Premier League clubs.
Bristol Rovers may have to start considering replacements for Kofi Shaw, as multiple Premier League sides are circling to secure the youngster's signature.
The emergence of the teenager has been one of the bright sparks in a pretty poor season across the board for the Gas. There was hope that Rovers could press on for a top-half finish, but once again they found themselves near the foot of the table.
However, exciting forward Shaw has proven to be a real bright spark in the disappointing season, following his recall from Yeovil Town in February. The powerful attacker has gathered the attention of Brentford, Brighton, and Burnley ahead of the summer transfer window, and the Gas could cash in.
Losing a key player will be tough for Inigo Calderon, especially with how highly he rates Shaw, but if Bristol Rovers are able to command a big transfer fee for their teenage sensation, it'll certainly soften the blow.
With reports regarding the 18-year-old's future emerging, we decided to look at three potential replacements Rovers could look at to replace Shaw if he departs.
Former Swindon Town man Tyrese Shade has been electric in the National League for Eastleigh this season. The 24-year-old joined the Spitfires in the summer of 2024, and is out of contract at the end of the season.
The St Kitts and Nevis international has been a standout for his side this season, with double figures in goals in the league from the right-wing. If Shaw departs, Shade could be a great shout for a replacement.
With EFL experience and riding high off the back of a great season with Eastleigh, the winger could make a quick transition back into EFL football and be the powerful wide-man that Bristol Rovers are looking for to replace Shaw.
A tall, powerful, and energetic attacking midfielder, Killian Phillips has already tasted plenty of senior football at the young age of 23. The Irishman has been on loan at Shrewsbury Town, Wycombe Wanderers, Aberdeen, and St Mirren in the last two years.
Highly rated by parent club Crystal Palace, Phillips is an excellent box-crashing midfielder with an eye for goal. He's more than capable of dealing with the physical demands of the EFL, having proven so during his time at Shrewsbury and Wycombe.
His recent loan move to St Mirren has been more successful than the previous two, but he needs to find a club where he can excel and put himself back into contention at Selhurst Park. Rovers might be able to offer his such opportunities if Shaw leaves, as the focal point of their attacking midfield.
It wouldn't be a shock to see plenty of League One interest in Newport County's Bobby Kamwa this summer. The attacker has found his feet in League Two for the Exiles, following his release by Burton Albion last year.
Similarly to Shaw, Kamwa offers versatility across the front line and is able to play in both the attacking midfield role, and on the wings. This would make him a great option for Calderon, as he'll need someone who has an understanding of all of Shaw's positions.
Having found form at Rodney Parade, a return to League One for the 25-year-old could be on the cards, and a club like Bristol Rovers could provide him with the perfect opportunity to thrive.
