3 PSG players Inter Miami desperately need to stop on Sunday | OneFootball

Almost every football fan on earth is anticipating Inter Miami's meeting with Paris Saint-Germain at the FIFA Club World Cup on Sunday, with eight-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi facing his most recent former European club.

Messi didn't leave Paris on good terms, and tomorrow, PSG fans will remind him from the stands.

However, Inter Miami and Herons manager Javier Mascherano need to focus on the essential: Stop the three most influential healthy players of PSG. (For the moment, we've omitted Ousmane Dembélé, who missed the group stage due to injury.)

He's the mastermind behind every PSG play. The Portuguese midfielder controls the rhythm of the French team and, sometimes, the rhythm of the game. This season, Vitinha has been flawless—attacking, defending, and creating play.

His tactical knowledge of the game makes him the biggest threat on the field. He makes late runs into the box, helping his team finish the momentum with a goal opportunity.

And that's where he could complicate Inter Miami in the second phase of PSG attacks. The Herons struggle to defend the second ball after the first attack. If Mascherano wants a chance to win the game, they need to control Vitinha.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Kvaratskhelia arrived at PSG in January from Napoli. Under Luis Enrique, the Georgian quickly became a key starter and team leader. His skill, goals, and experience made him PSG's main threat after Dembele.

Weigandt will likely start at right back and face a tough challenge against a fast, powerful winger. The Georgian is a constant threat in Paris Saint-Germain's attack for the full 90 minutes and is rarely subbed off.

Inter Miami's winger will need to help Chelo stop the Georgian from making progress.

Achraf Hakimi

The right-back has become a true all-around player, crucial in attack and dominant in defense. Like Vitinha, he's everywhere on the pitch and constantly offers himself as an outlet for the center-backs.

His speed allows him to cut inside like an extra midfielder, drawing defenders or creating danger through the middle.

He also overlaps the wingers to deliver crosses or cutbacks for arriving forwards and midfielders.
