37 Italy youngsters ‘to watch’ as Baldini backs pathway after Kayode debut | OneFootball

Michael Kayode impressed on his first Italy appearance earlier this week, and U21s coach Silvio Baldini has hinted more youngsters could be close to senior recognition. Gazzetta has published a 37-strong list of emerging players Roberto Mancini could consider to revive major tournament success.

Speaking on Wednesday, Baldini said every member of his U21 squad is capable of stepping up to the senior side when required.

The coach, who briefly served as interim boss in June, added last week that his youngsters matured faster after replacing the regular senior squad for two friendlies that month.

The 37 cover every department, from goalkeepers to centre-forwards, and come from clubs in Italy and abroad. Notable names include Kayode of Brentford and fellow full-back Destiny Udogie of Tottenham, defenders Giovanni Leoni of Liverpool and Fabio Chiarodia of Borussia Moenchengladbach, and midfielders such as Cher Ndour of Fiorentina.

Attacking options highlighted include Francesco Camarda of Milan, Pio Esposito of Inter, Antonio Raimondo of Frosinone and Antonio Vergara of Napoli, along with Luca Koleosho of Paris FC.
