5 Barcelona stars turned up for training despite day off after Inter Milan defeat | OneFootball

A quintet of first-team stars at La Liga giants Barcelona reported for training on Wednesday, despite having been afforded the day off.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

Barcelona are of course fresh off nothing short of a heartbreaking night on the continent on Tuesday.

After coming within minutes of booking their spot in the finale of the Champions League, the Blaugrana were pegged back at the last, by Italian champions Inter Milan.

From here, it was the latter who advanced courtesy of extra-time, thanking a Davide Frattesi strike for a 7-6 aggregate triumph.

Fresh off an evening which no doubt proved draining from both a physical and mental standpoint, Hansi Flick, in turn, afforded Barcelona’s players the day off on Wednesday.

As alluded to above, though, this did not stop five such players from reporting to The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

As per MD, ahead of this weekend’s Clásico showdown with arch rivals Real Madrid, the following were all spotted arriving for individual training earlier today:

Wojciech Szczęsny, Frenkie De Jong, Lamine Yamal, Pedri, and Ferran Torres.
