5 moments when Chivas showed their unbreakable character

Character isn’t built overnight. It is shaped, strengthened and, above all, proven. And if there’s one thing Gabriel Milito’s Chivas have made clear, it’s that adversity is not an obstacle, but a stage where the Rebaño Sagrado tends to grow.

What happened against Pumas on Matchday 13 of the Clausura 2026 is yet another example. Guadalajara found itself against the ropes after a difficult first half that left them 0-2 down, but they never lost their composure or belief. In the second half, staying true to their identity, the team pushed forward, insisted and found their reward in the final minutes, when Armando González scored a brace to rescue a draw that keeps them firmly at the top.

The draw at Estadio AKRON not only extended their unbeaten home run —now 11 matches without defeat, with 9 wins and 2 draws— but also secured their place in the playoffs, becoming the first team to qualify for the Clausura 2026 with four matches still to play. In addition, the team remains at the top of the standings with 31 points, four ahead of second place and five clear of third.

This was not a coincidence or an isolated case, but rather a constant for the Rojiblancos.

Since Milito’s arrival, Guadalajara have made comebacks one of their main calling cards. The first major example came on Matchday 3 of the Apertura 2025 against Atlético San Luis. That afternoon, the Rebaño trailed 2-3, but in the closing minutes they once again showed their character: first they equalized, and then, in stoppage time, Armando González struck again to seal a thrilling 4-3 comeback.

Weeks later, on Matchday 6 of that same tournament, Chivas produced another memorable moment away at Xolos. After falling behind 3-0, the team made a statement and responded in the final 15 minutes with goals from ‘La Hormiga’, Efraín Álvarez and Roberto Alvarado to level a match that seemed decided. They even came close to winning it.

The story repeated itself on Matchday 12 of the Apertura 2025, once again against Pumas at Ciudad Universitaria. After conceding the opening goal from Pedro Vite, Chivas responded with personality and turned the game around thanks to Armando González and Daniel Aguirre, securing three crucial points heading into the final stretch of the tournament.

In the Clausura 2026, the team’s character once again came to the fore in one of the most demanding scenarios: the Clásico Tapatío against Atlas. At Estadio Jalisco, Chivas fell behind early but remained patient and, in the second half, completed the comeback with goals from Armando González and Ángel Sepúlveda to seal a victory that thrilled the entire Rojiblanca Nation.

This Guadalajara side never compromises its identity, even when the scoreline is against them. They believe, they persist and they compete until the final whistle. Because if there’s one thing Milito’s team has proven, it’s that they are never out of the game. And when everything seems to be going uphill, that’s precisely when they become most dangerous.
