Manchester United are busy sorting out loan moves for their youngsters this summer as we reach deadline day.

Loans

Sekou Kone has been playing regularly for Lausanne-Sport and got his future sorted out very early in the window.

Ethan Wheatley has joined Lincoln City but is so far struggling to get a competitive kick. Yesterday saw some movement on the loan front as Dan Gore signed up with Luton Town for the season on loan.

In addition, Jayce Fitzgerald joined Rotherham United for the season for his first loan experience.

Andre Onana

Onana certainly does not fit into the younger category, being 30 years old, but will spend another season at Trabzonspor.

The Turkish side were humiliated 4-0 in Europe on Thursday and once again lost on Monday in the league.

He was called into action early in his side’s 2-1 loss to Amed. He had to get down low to beat away an early effort on his goal.

On 25 minutes, he was almost spectacularly caught out when he raced out to clear a ball and it landed at the feet of an Amed player on the halfway line. He took a shot with Onana in no-man’s land but thankfully for the United keeper, the ball dropped harmlessly wide.

On 37 minutes, he was called into action to make a fine stop down to his right from a shot from outside the penalty area.

In an excellent first half, he also did well to beat away a long-range free kick just before half time.

Nonetheless, on the stroke of half-time his side gave away a penalty through a handball. Onana actually saved the effort but it rebounded to Yira Sor who happily put in the rebound.

Disaster struck for the keeper when, on 89 minutes, the Amed attack was given the freedom of the penalty area to bundle in a free kick, resulting in another defeat for the Cameroonian.

Overall, he made a total of five saves and completed two successful run outs.

He also won 100% of his tackles, aerial duels and ground battles in a strong performance in spite of the defeat.
