Major cup finals and crunch clashes in the race for Champions League qualification feature in our spiciest fixtures of the upcoming weekend.
Here are our five must-watch games.
Chelsea take on Manchester United in both the men’s and women’s game this weekend. The latter fixture will take place at Wembley in this season’s FA Cup final.
Chelsea are aiming to complete a domestic treble in Sonia Bompastor’s first season in charge, but face a Manchester United side looking to defend the trophy.
Arsenal and Newcastle United meet in the Premier League on Sunday, where the winners can secure a place in the Champions League next season.
Newcastle can climb above Arsenal and into second with a win at the Emirates, as the Magpies target a top-two finish in the Premier League for the first time in 28 years. Eddie Howe’s side have had the better of recent meetings, winning five of the last eight encounters.
The Bundesliga’s final weekend features a fascinating Champions League shootout in Freiburg.
Fourth hosts third in Germany, with the winners guaranteed to play Champions League football next season. Freiburg are just one win from featuring in Europe’s elite for the first time.
However, defeat for either could allow Borussia Dortmund to climb above them, if Niko Kovac’s side beat relegated Holsten Kiel. The pressure is on.
Inter Milan are not giving up the Scudetto without a fight and closed the gap on Napoli to just a point last weekend.
The champions face a tough test in their penultimate fixture, as Lazio arrive at the San Siro. Lazio are in a tight battle to secure Champions League qualification and neither side can afford to lose. A slip for Inter could see Napoli crowned champions.
Crystal Palace and Manchester City meet in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday.
The Eagles have the chance to make history, with Palace having never won a major trophy in their 119-year history. Palace bear the scars of past final defeats, losing to Manchester United in 1990 and 2016.
Will it be third time lucky against Manchester opposition?
Manchester City will start as heavy favourites, but have not looked the force of old this season.
