€50m deal clears path for Liverpool to sign sensational rapid winger

Liverpool should have a clear path to sign a rapid Premier League winger. That's if a €50m deal goes through.

Liverpool are in the market for a new winger this summer as they attempt to continue to rebuild started in 2025. But finding that winger at a reasonable price isn't going to be easy.

Yan Diomande and Bradley Barcola have both been heavily linked with moves to Anfield, though at price tags approaching €100m. Liverpool may not want to take that sort of gamble.

But there is a door opening for a Premier League winger. Brentford are reportedly in the market for a new star, and Sport Bild claims they're ready to pay around €50m for Said El Mala of KC Koln.

It's an awful lot of money for a teenager and an interesting deal. If only because it suggests Kevin Schade is available.

Both play in the same position and it's difficult to believe that Brentford would go all-out on the Koln star if he wasn't going to be a starter. Nor do we believe he'd make the move there without assurances over playing time.

And if Schade is available as a result, Liverpool should pounce. The German is one of the quickest wingers in the Premier League and one of the tallest, standing over 6ft tall.

He's proven at the top level and right on the brink of his prime years. This has traditionally been the age bracket where Liverpool shop for wingers: Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo all arrived at around 23 or 24 years old.

We think Schade would be a clever move if Brentford are suddenly open to selling. Liverpool need pace and they need a new dimension on the flank.

And Schade is exactly the type of move they've benefitted from in the past.

Kevin Schade: Situation Summary

Brentford Performance and Stats

As of 20 May 2026, Kevin Schade has enjoyed a highly productive campaign for Brentford, recently reaching his 100th Premier League appearance during a match against Manchester United. The 24-year-old German attacker has been a standout presence in the Bees' frontline, netting seven goals across all competitions this season, including six in his first 17 outings. Renowned for his blistering pace and aerial threat, Opta metrics highlight him as one of the league's top performing midfielders for big chances and headed attempts inside the box. He most recently featured as a second-half substitute, providing an assist in a 1–1 draw against Crystal Palace on 17 May.

Transfer Speculation

Schade’s explosive form has triggered a major multi-club transfer battle ahead of the summer window. Bayern Munich are reportedly leading the European chase for the dynamic forward, while Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur—the latter managed by former Brentford boss Thomas Frank—are also heavily tracking him. Whilst Brentford are determined to retain their asset and are pushing to extend his contract beyond 2028, they are realistic about the mounting interest and have slapped a hefty €50 million to €70 million valuation on him.
