Derby County have had a bit of a dire start to John Eustace's second full season in charge. The Rams haven't been able to capitalise on the momentum they had from their eighth-placed finish last year, with just one win in their opening five.

West Brom, their opponents at Pride Park on Wednesday night, have been the complete opposite, starting the season on the front foot and picking up 10 points from a possible 15 to begin the campaign.

The Baggies will be looking to keep up their good start, while the Rams need to get their performances back on track after defeat at West Ham United on Saturday. These eight players won't be featuring, though.

John Eustace had to withdraw Rhian Brewster midway through the first half in their defeat against West Ham after suffering a blow to the head, which made him feel "sick and a bit dizzy."

If the 26-year-old suffered a concussion, he definitely won't be available for this quick turnaround. Either way, he may not be risked.

Veteran defender Craig Forsyth was forced off with a knee injury in the latter stages of their first win of the campaign at Portsmouth last Tuesday.

The 37-year-old will miss the next two months at least, with the issue needing some kind of surgery.

Captain Lewis Travis has missed the last two games after coming off late in the defeat against Swansea City the last time Derby played at Pride Park.

Speaking ahead of the meeting with West Ham, Eustace was relieved to state that the damage wasn't as severe as they first thought, but the 28-year-old will still be out for around a month.

Carlton Morris is the closest to a return compared to his injured peers.

He's missed the last three games with a calf injury, but is only expected to be missing for this matchup with West Brom. He should be back for Saturday's lunchtime clash with Birmingham City.

Derry Murkin has endured a rough few months with injury, having been sidelined since April having needed to undergo minor back surgery.

The left-back had been working towards a recovery throughout the off-season, but damaged his hamstring ahead of an under-21s matchup with Hull City and will be out for the next four months.

Matt Clarke came off at half-time in Derby's EFL Cup defeat against Lincoln City at the start of last month with a calf injury, which will see him sidelined until November.

The 29-year-old was an influential member of the Rams backline last season, missing just one league game all year.

And Patrick Agyemang continues to recover from the devastating Achilles injury he picked up back in April, which ruled the USMNT international out of the World Cup and the subsequent opening months of this season.

The 25-year-old, who netted 10 league goals last season, won't be seen until December at the earliest.

Mikey Johnston

West Brom's squad is one of the smallest in the Championship, reflected by the fact that James Morrison has only fielded a league-low 17 players in the first five games.

Their main absentee is Mikey Johnston, who is yet to see the pitch in league action this season as he continues to battle setbacks from the stress fracture he suffered to his ankle back in March.
