FC Bayern will play its first competitive match of the new season on Saturday evening. The record champions will face BVB on the road for the Super Cup and, of course, aim to win it. But what will the lineup look like?
There are still some question marks surrounding the Super Cup for FC Bayern. Lennart Karl and Serge Gnabry aren’t quite ready to play yet, and the club is currently taking a cautious approach with Jamal Musiala, likely building him up gradually for the start of the new Bundesliga season, which takes place next Friday.
In addition, some players have only recently returned from their World Cup break. Harry Kane, Dayot Upamecano, and Michael Olise haven’t yet completed many training sessions with the team.
However, all three saw brief action on Tuesday in the friendly against 1. FC Heidenheim. Still, it’s unclear whether any of them will start. At the press conference ahead of the match in Dortmund, Vincent Kompany hadn’t yet announced many lineup decisions.
Regarding Ismael Saibari, the new signing, the coach said: “He’ll play a role tomorrow. He’s coming off an injury, so we’ll see how many minutes he gets. He’ll play an important role for us.” So there was also a question mark regarding whether he would start.

The situation is now clear: FC Bayern’s starting lineup has been officially confirmed. Manuel Neuer is in goal, with Konrad Laimer, Jonathan Tah, Minjae Kim, and Josip Stanisic in defense. In front of them, Bayern will field their regular midfielders, Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlovic. However, Nathaniel Brown will also play, so he could see some action on the offensive end.
There, he would play alongside Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Luis Diaz.
