Manchester United are considering summer move to re-sign ex midfielder after his strong performances with Napoli.

United track former midfielder in Italy

Manchester United exploring the possibility of bringing back Scott McTominay who has impressed since joining Napoli.

McTominay left United in the summer of 2024 and quickly became a key player in southern Italy.

In his first season, he played major role in Napoli’s Serie A title, scoring 12 goal and providing six assist. His impact earned him the Player of the Season award.

Strong form continues despite Napoli struggles

Although Napoli have been inconsistent this season, McTominay remains their standout performer. The Scottish midfielder has scored 10 goal and delivered four assist across all competitions underlining his importance to the team.

According to Fichajes, Napoli open to selling the player in the next summer transfer window.

While he is still one of the club’s main figures, officials believe sale could make sense especially as McTominay is 29 year old and under contract until summer 2028.

With the club planning to make changes in midfield during the summer, United see McTominay as a player who understands the club's requirements well especially with Casemiro's departure imminent at the end of the season after the club decided not to extend his contract.
