PSG is firmly on track to claim the 2025 Ballon d'Or. After humiliating Real Madrid on Wednesday, a former member of Los Blancos has already handed the prestigious individual trophy to a Parisian who is the clear front-runner.
On Wednesday night, PSG cruised past Real Madrid with ease (4-0). Ousmane Dembélé, already a leading favorite for the Ballon d'Or according to many, delivered another spectacular performance: one goal and one assist against the Spanish giants.
After the match, former Real Madrid striker Joselu was full of praise for PSG's number 10 in an interview with DAZN. Even though Lamine Yamal is also among the top contenders for football's ultimate individual honor, Joselu was candid and admitted that, in his eyes, Ousmane Dembélé is now the clear favorite for the Ballon d'Or.
Joselu 🇪🇸 : « 𝗝𝗘 𝗖𝗥𝗢𝗜𝗦 𝗤𝗨𝗘 𝗗𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘́𝗟𝗘́ 🇫🇷 𝗣𝗘𝗨𝗧 𝗘̂𝗧𝗥𝗘 𝗟𝗘 𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗙𝗔𝗩𝗢𝗥𝗜 𝗔𝗨 𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗢𝗡 𝗗’𝗢𝗥. » 🌕🌟 (@DAZN_ES)–
It's clear that Ousmane Dembélé is on cloud nine: this season, he has won the Champions League, the Coupe de France, Ligue 1, the Trophée des Champions, and has qualified for the Club World Cup final, where PSG will face Chelsea on Sunday, July 13. Dembélé's season so far boasts 35 goals and 14 assists. The individual accolade is now within touching distance.
