‘A joy to watch’… Fabio Capello gives his verdict on Hansi Flick’s work at Barcelona | OneFootball

There is no doubt that since his arrival at FC Barcelona, Hansi Flick has been able to completely overturn the performances and the fortunes of the Catalan team. With him in charge, the team that ended the last season without any trophies is now competing to win the treble in this late stage of the current season.

The Blaugranes have already won the Spanish Super Cup, and will be looking to add another cup trophy to their cabinet as they face Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final on Saturday.

Although the German coach has been wildly successful with this Barcelona team, the former Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello believes there are still some weaknesses in his team.

The Italian tactician appeared in an interview with SPORT, in which he talked about different aspects of European football. Talking about Flick’s work at Barcelona, the former AC Milan trainer said:

“He’s done a great job as Barça’s coach because they play differently. He has a different style — lots of pressing and attacking — but they defend poorly. Still, they recover during matches and it’s a joy to watch.”

Capello also opined on the upcoming Copa final between the two Spanish giants:

“The battle will be intense. But Real Madrid needs to win because right now they’re second in La Liga and have been knocked out of the Champions League. That’s why I think this will be a crucial match for Real Madrid this season. They have to win the Copa del Rey.”

In the two previous meetings between Barcelona and Real Madrid this season, it was the Blaugranes who emerged as clear winners, first with a 4-0 scoreline in La Liga and then with a 5-2 scoreline in the Spanish Super Cup final.

Thus, the Blaugranes remain the favorites ahead of this upcoming game, but as is always the case, form will not play a huge part as both the teams will put their best performances to ensure they get the win and add another trophy to their cabinets.
