Manchester City almost have a full squad available for tomorrow’s FA Cup final against Chelsea. Pep Guardiola’s side are in a great position in terms of having players fit and in form for the FA Cup final at Wembley. There is only one City player who is in doubt to play against Chelsea: Rodri. Pep Guardiola has today revealed that Rodri will travel with the City squad for tomorrow’s FA Cup final, but Rodri’s availability to play remains unknown.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has faced the media today in his pre-game press conference ahead of tomorrow’s FA Cup final. City will face Chelsea as they bid to win their second piece of silverware of the 2025-26 season. Rodri has missed Manchester City’s past five matches due to a groin injury. Pep Guardiola was asked if Rodri would be available to play at Wembley. Guardiola revealed that Rodri will travel with the City squad to London for tomorrow’s match, but Guardiola wouldn’t reveal if Rodri would play. When asked about if Rodri will play tomorrow, Guardiola said: “We will see [if he’s available]. He will travel and we will see.”
Pep Guardiola’s answer regarding Rodri’s availability for tomorrow’s FA Cup final doesn’t reveal if the Spanish international is ready to return to the pitch. The fact that Rodri is traveling with his teammates to London isn’t groundbreaking news. Manchester City’s Ballon d’Or winner typically always travels with his teammates, even when he is unavailable to play. That news in itself isn’t huge. So based on Pep Guardiola’s latest update, the guessing game surrounding Rodri’s fitness will continue for another day.
Manchester City almost have a full squad available for selection for tomorrow’s FA Cup final. Rodri remains City’s only injury concern. Pep Guardiola hasn’t shed any light on Rodri’s availability for the clash with Chelsea, so it remains up in the air if Manchester City’s midfield general will play a part in the match at Wembley.
