A series of thrilling and unforgettable days filled with meaningful and exciting experiences. In early April, 15 players from Inter Academy Toronto's U17 team took part in an internship in Milano. The programme took place from 1 to 9 April and offered the young Canadians a completely immersive experience of the Nerazzurri world.
Easter weekend was the defining moment of the experience for Inter Academy Toronto, which took place at the same time as the Inter Women's game against Lazio and the Men's First Team's clash against Roma at San Siro. On Saturday, 4 April, the girls had a memorable experience at the Arena Civica, one of Milano's most iconic venues. Ahead of kick-off for Inter vs. Lazio, on matchday 18 of the women's Serie A, the Inter Academy Toronto players were able to relish the Arena's legendary atmosphere. They were also given the chance to meet Nerazzurri legend Julio Cruz before the game and played the 19:08 game, an unmissable moment for fans of the Nerazzurre. Finally, the girls accompanied the team onto the pitch, forming a guard of honour as the players walked out.
On the evening of Easter Sunday, Inter Academy Toronto took centre stage just before Inter vs. Roma kicked off, the iconic league match that Chivu's side won. The girls explored San Siro and had the opportunity to watch the Nerazzurri warm up from the sidelines in a thrilling evening where the fans were at the heart of the memorable show and cheered Inter onto a strong victory.
The activities went beyond match participation as the girls were given the chance to complete a series of training sessions at the KONAMI Football Centre organised by coaches from the Inter Academy network. These sessions took place both before and after the weekend.
The week came to an end with a special moment: on Thursday, 9 April, Inter Academy Toronto paid a visit to Inter HQ, the heart and soul of the Nerazzurri world, before saying their goodbyes to Milano. The girls were given a memorable Trophy Tour by the legendary Nerazzurri goalkeeper Francesco Toldo, and were able to see Inter's achievements up close.
