West Ham United are being tipped to have to sell Crysencio Summerville this summer, especially if they end up getting relegated from the Premier League.

The Hammers are on a slightly improved run of just one defeat from their last five league matches, but they remain in 18th place on goal difference.

It won’t be easy for West Ham to stay up, and that surely means a talent like Summerville is going to attract interest this summer.

Former West Ham scout Mick Brown has weighed in on the saga, suggesting he can see there being a lot of interest in the talented 24-year-old, and pressure on WHUFC to let him go.

Crysencio Summerville transfer warning for West Ham

Speaking to Football Insider, Brown said: “A lot of clubs will be interested in Summerville.

“He was always one of those players who I thought would be in and out, show you a bit of quality and then fade away in the game, I didn’t know if he was consistent enough.

“But I have to give him credit, whether it’s been as a substitute or from the start, he’s done more for West Ham this season than most of their other players.

“He’s been their go-to player in recent weeks and has taken a bit of responsibility off of Bowen.

“The big problem, as we always say, is that when a player is performing above the level of his team, it always attracts interest from rival clubs.

“If that’s the case, there will be no shortage of suitors for him and it wouldn’t surprise me if he was allowed to move on.”

Can West Ham stay up?

West Ham remain in real danger, but they’ve improved slightly in recent games, while Tottenham in particular are going through an awful run of form.

That could give Nuno Espirito Santo’s side some hope, but they also face some very tough-looking fixtures in their run-in.

As well as facing title-chasers Arsenal and Manchester City, they also face potential six-pointers against fellow strugglers Wolves and Leeds.

Summerville is certainly one player they could use in this period to get them out of the bottom three, but it may well be that we’re about to see the Dutchman’s final few appearances in a West Ham shirt.
